13 Activity – List and Single-Property Categories (part 1)

You might have seen a sign like this one in a park or other public space.   Its purpose is to make it safe for people to walk there by requiring some other people and vehicles to get out of their way.  The sign shows a powered cart, a person on a bicycle, and a person on a skateboard.

What does this sign mean? How do you decide if something or someone needs to yield to pedestrians? It depends on how you understand the category of YIELD TO PED.  It looks like a list of things, which means that only powered carts, bicycles, and skateboards must yield. That makes it a list category like “the 50 United States.”
